Areas of Interest

The foundation primarily supports charitable organizations and educational institutions that serve the residents of the greater Indianapolis area, with an emphasis on Marion County, in the areas of arts and culture, education, health and human services, civic and community service and religion. Other areas of interest and geographic regions that may also receive funding include those where the board has special knowledge and interest, or which were of particular importance to the founders. However, the board is currently not accepting unsolicited applications from organizations in other regions or areas of interest

The foundation accepts requests for funding of program support, general operating support, capital funds and scholarships. The foundation is currently not making grants for endowments or multi-year requests. We also do not make matching grants, challenge grants, grants for seed funding, or grants to individuals.

The Noyes Foundation accepts applications only from organizations whose purposes have been determined by the IRS to be tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3), and further classified under 509(a)(1), 509(a)(2) or in certain cases 509(a)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. All applicants are required to provide a copy of their tax determination letter from the IRS before a proposal may be considered for funding. If you have applied for determination from the IRS and have not received notification of approval, please do not submit a request until approval has been received unless it is through a sponsoring fiscal agent.

Organizations may apply only one time in any calendar year.
