2012 Application Process

 

Any organization considering a grant application should first email a Letter of Inquiry to Program Officer, Sue Richardson.  Her email address is SLSR28@yahoo.com .  The letter should describe the organization's mission, the purpose of the request and the dollar amount of the proposed request.  All Letters of Inquiry must be submitted between January 16th and February 1st (for the February application deadline) and between August 1st and August 17th (for the August application deadline).  The Letter of Inquiry should be BRIEF with NO additional attachments.  Please include your name/title/email address/telephone number and the address of the organization.

Grants are considered twice a year and the timeline for the two funding cycles are as follows:

Application Deadlines are subject to change at any time, and any such changes would be listed on this website. Proposals must be RECEIVED (not postmarked) by 5:00pm February 17th and August 31st (regardless of the day of the week on which it falls) in order to be considered during that particular funding cycle. Sorry, no exceptions. Requests can not be delivered in person, but must be mailed. Sorry, no exceptions. Acceptable methods are U.S. mail, Fed Ex, UPS, etc.
Receipt of all applications will be acknowledged.

Proposals are encouraged to be submitted soon after approval of your LOI to ensure that the application packet arrives in advance of the posted deadline.  If any of the listed criteria is not included, the proposal is incomplete and may not be considered.  Therefore, it is suggested that applicants NOT wait until the last days prior to the deadline to apply, in order to allow sufficient time to make inquiries about your proposal or obtain missing materials, if necessary.  Hence it is in your best interest to apply early. 



During the review process, a Foundation representative may research your request by telephone inquiry Email and/or site visit. These inquiries will be initiated by the Foundation only.
